Emily and Dustin
I've been having some technical difficulties with my blog lately and instead of patiently trying to figure them out I only last about 15 minutes until I throw my hands up in frustration, maybe say a few choice words, and move on to the next item on the agenda. Ya, I don't like it when I can't figure things out. SO I decided that instead of trying to figure it out I'd just move on with the post I've been wanting to do for months and maybe I will figure things out along the way.
My little sister Emily was married last October and I had the privilege of taking her engagement photos. At the time I was a basket case, I mean this is the photo that would be sent with their wedding invitations and it was on my shoulders to come up with something that hundreds of people would see! I look back on it now and wonder why I was so stressed, they found the perfect photo! So almost 6 months later I'm just now getting around to posting some of the photos I took of them. My bad, but in my defensive I was having a ridiculous amount of trouble with this blog (see previous paragraph).

Miscellaneous
It's been quite a while since I've posted anything, but I'm still here. I haven't worked on my photography as much as I'd like to but I do have a few to show you. More to come....hopefully not in another 4 months ;-)
At the end of May I went on a walk along the Provo River Trail and came across two ducks and I tiny tiny baby duck. It was the cutest thing. Mom was protecting baby so I didn't get any good shots, but I did get this shot of dad. So handsome!

At the end of June we had this awesome sunset. This was taken from my balcony.
At the beginning of July I went home for my annual Larson family camping trip to Lake Shasta (photos to come) but before we left I had a day to spend with a great friend of mine. One of our stops was to the Palace of Fine Arts. Unfortunately they are remodeling most of it so we weren't able to go inside, but just looking at it from the outside is still just as amazing to me. I can't help but think of the movie "The Rock" whenever I go there. HAHA.
Last week my cousin Lisa and I decided to go hiking to Stewart Falls. We drove up to Sundance, took the chair lift (soooo much fun!) to the top and began our hike. Anyone that knows me really well knows that I am not much of a hiker and I am DEATHLY afraid of heights. I heard from a few people that this hike was really easy so I figured non-hiker, non-heights me can totally do it. HA! Maybe easy for some but not for me. The majority of the hike to the falls was downhill along the side of the moutain AND the trail wasn't much wider than a few feet. Let me tell you if it wasn't for Lisa I probably would have quit and turned around, but I am SO glad she was there to encourage me and tell me "oh it's not much farther"! Now I'm so glad I did it and there were some amazing views but I probably won't be doing it again any time soon.
When you see this at the end it makes it all worth it.

We saw a few butterflies along the hike, but none of them wanted to stop to let me take their picture except for this guy. He actually stayed for a couple minutes.

30
On March 17th yours truly turned 30. I know, I know I can't believe it either. I never thought I would reach it to 30. Not saying that I thought I was going to die or anything but when you're a teenager 30 seemed like FOREVER in the distance. And now I'm here.
I had a great birthday celebration. I worked until noon then went to lunch with Doug and Emily (her birthday is the day after mine so lunch was to celebrate her) at Goodwood in Provo. Then Emily and I treated ourselves to manicures & pedicures. Life just is better with a good mani/pedi! After that I raced home to get ready for dinner with family and friends at one of my favorites, Cheesecake Factory. Next to going to New York for cheesecake this is by far the best place to find some locally. MMM just writing about it now is making me hungry! All in all I had a great day and it made turning 30 a little easier.

Top 20 Unfortunate Lessons Girls Learn From Twilight
A friend sent this to me and I thought it was pretty funny. I just had to share it with everyone.
1. If a boy is aloof, stand-offish, ignores you or is just plain rude, it is because he is secretly in love with you — and you are the point of his existence.
2. Secrets are good — especially life-threatening ones.
3. It’s OK for a potential romantic interest to be dimwitted, violent and vengeful — as long as he has great abs.
4. If a boy tells you to stay away from him because he is dangerous and may even kill you, he must be the love of your life. You should stay with him since he will keep you safe forever.
5. If a boy leaves you, especially suddenly (while telling you he will never see you again), it is because he loves you so much he will suffer just to keep you safe.
6. When a boy leaves you, going into shock, losing all your friends and enduring night terrors are completely acceptable occurrences — as long as you keep your grades up.
7. It is extremely romantic to put yourself in dangerous situations in order to see your ex-boyfriend again. It’s even more romantic to remember the sound of his voice when he yelled at you.
8. Boys who leave you always come back.
9. Because they come back, you should hold out, waiting for them for months, even when completely acceptable and less-abusive alternative males present themselves.
10. Even though you have no intention of dating an alternative male who expresses interest in you, it is fine to string the young man along for months. Also, you should use him to fix things for you. Maybe he’ll even buy you something.
11. You should use said male to fix things because girls are incapable of anything mechanical or technical.
12. Lying to your parents is fine. Lying to your parents while you run away to save your suicidal boyfriend is an extremely good idea that shows your strength and maturity. Also, it is what you must do.
13. Car theft in the service of love is acceptable.
14. If the boy you are in love with causes you (even indirectly) to be so badly beaten you end up in the hospital, you should tell the doctors and your family that you “fell down the steps” because you are such a silly, clumsy girl. That false explanation always works well for abused women.
15. Men can be changed for the better if you sacrifice everything you are and devote yourself to their need for change.
16. Young women should make no effort to improve their social skills or emotional state. Instead, they should seek out potential mates that share their morose deficiencies and emotional illnesses.
17. Girls shouldn’t always read a book series just because everyone else has.
18. When writing a book series, it’s acceptable to lift seminal source material and bastardize it with tired, overwrought teenage angst.
19. When making or watching a major feature film, you should gleefully embrace the 20 minutes of plot it provides in between extended segments of vacant-eyed silence and self-indulgent, moaning banter.

Fall
One of my favorite things to do in Utah is go on long drives up the many canyons here. Since it's now my favorite season I thought I need to take my camera with me when I go on my drives. These aren't the greatest pictures but for those of you not in Utah I thought you'd like to see what it looks like right now. It's absolutely breathtaking. To me, there is no better season. I can't get over the colors. All these pictures are taken up Spanish Fork Canyon, American Fork Canyon, Provo Canyon and along the Alpine Loop.
I just had to add this next picture.....my cat decided this was the most comfortable place to sleep. HMMM.
